Ann Twilley Edwards passed away at the ripe old age of 88. She was born in Selma, Al on November 6th 1937.
Her parents were Haddox Leroy and Willie Grey Twilley. She is survived by her brother Glenn. Leroy Gayle Twilley and Patricia Stone preceded her in death.
She grew up on the family farm, picking cotton and working in the fields. She graduated from Parrish High School. She worked in the insurance field filing claims, etc. She married Robert I (Bob) Edwards in 1953, and they were married for 69 years. He passed in 2023. They had three Children - Gary (Karla), Karen and Stephen (Penny), Two grandsons- Ashton and Wil, two granddaughters Leslie (Ben)Horsley and Kaylie Love and three great granddaughters Stevie Ann, Molly and Ruby Horsley.
She was dedicated to her faith and family. She always volunteered to help with Vacation Bible School, taught Sunday School, was the pianist for the church and sang in the choir and Christmas Dinner Theater until her health did not permit.
She and Bob sang many duets at church and their voices blended together beautifully, they also volunteered for the Safety Net Program and ran that for many years. They both volunteered at The Vaughn Regional Medical Center and Ann ran the gift shop there.
Ann was part of the Gideon Auxiliary and was proud to serve. She was the director of the outdoor Christmas drama that was held in her pasture. She stood back past the lines of cars and would tell the electrical people when to light up a scene. She could definitely work the walkie talkie!!
She always had a garden and canned and froze all the vegetables. She could drive tractors, trucks, haul hay, a woman of many talents.
She loved arts and crafts, made wreaths, flower arrangements and even took a brick laying class to build a fence behind her house. She was a
talented seamstress, she made Bob’s suits, show horse riding coats, prom dresses, pant suits, etc. She loved antiques and giving tours around her house and explain the uses of all the unique pieces she had collected.
They had annual square dances under the airplane hanger with a live band and caller. Ann was very fashion forward, even when sitting at home she looked as if she were going somewhere! In fact, she bought 3-4 new outfits while visiting in Birmingham.
She HAD to have her lipstick at all times. If she didn’t have a pocket, it was in Bob’s pocket! No southern lady would be caught without lipstick! She lived a full life and I’m sure she is happy to be reunited with Bob.

Visitation will be 10-11AM, Service at 11AM. Private Family burial.
