Carolyn Mae Hearn Roberts

Carolyn Mae Hearn Roberts passed away March 9, 2026 at the age of 82. She was born July 27, 1943 to the late Frazier C. and Eula Bell Hearn. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bobby Ray Roberts; mother and father-in-law, William Kelvey and Georgia Rebecca Williamson Roberts; sister, Evelyn Hearn (Mac) Teel; brothers, Glenn Hearn, Frazier (Ruth) Hearn and William Hearn; brother-in-law, Danny Hawkins; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Emmett Mitchell and niece, Deborah Powell.

Carolyn dedicated over 30 years of her life working at Wal-Mart in the shoe department, where her warm smile and helpful nature made her a beloved figure in the community.

As a devoted member of Westwood Baptist Church, Carolyn found a community that embraced her spirited nature and love for fellowship. She cherished her time in the ladies’ sewing group, where she wove together friendships and created delightful garments, leaving behind a tapestry of memories sewn with laughter, camaraderie, and purpose.

Carolyn’s culinary skills were the stuff of legend in her family gatherings. She had an unrivaled talent for cooking, particularly her famed chicken casserole, chicken and dumplings, cathead biscuits, grilled cheese, and turkey and dressing. The aroma of her cooking was a warm invitation for family to gather around the table, where stories were shared, laughter echoed, and bonds were strengthened.

Above all, Carolyn treasured the moments spent with her family. Her heart expanded with each gathering, as she poured love and warmth into every dish she prepared and every conversation she shared. She was a nurturing matriarch whose support knew no bounds, shaping the lives of those around her with her unwavering devotion.

She is survived by her children, Kim (Billy) Rhodes, Ray (LuAnn) Roberts, Lisa (Ricky) Daniels, Renee' (Gary) Lovelady; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; siblings, Linda Hawkins, Betty Joyce (Ricky) Davis, Sharon (Ricky) Owens and Gerald Hearn.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma with Bro. Glenn Brock officiating. Interment will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Marty Roney, Matthew Rhodes, Dusty Daniels, Steven Walker, Chad Schofield, Jason Ellison. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Rhodes, Ricky Daniels, Gary Lovelady, Ricky Boozer, Jet Anderson and Frankie Arnold.
