Chris Friday passed away June 28, 2026 at the age of 45. He was born November 24, 1980 to the late Charles and Faye Friday.
Chris poured his heart into everything he did. In 2023, he channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into founding Friday’s Carpentry and Painting in Selma, Alabama. This venture was a reflection not just of his skill, but his belief in hard work and honest craftsmanship. His clients quickly became friends, drawn in by his integrity, his storytelling, and the genuine pride he took in each project.
Outside of work, Chris sought adventure and delight in life’s simple pleasures. He loved riding his Harley 1200—a source of freedom, wind, and exhilaration. The golf course called to him, not just for the sport, but for the camaraderie it fostered. Whether he was fishing for bass or soaking in the serenity of the Gulf of America, Chris found endless joy and peace outdoors.
Home was where his heart truly thrived. Chris was a master at cooking hibachi for family and friends, turning every meal into a festive occasion. His playful nature found its outlet in practical jokes that would keep everyone laughing, and he cherished the opportunity to create memories with his nieces and nephews, being the kind of uncle who showed up with love, laughter, and a mischievous grin. Above all, Chris was an energetic, loving family man. His devotion to his loved ones and to all of his buddies was fierce and unwavering. Those who knew him will forever remember the sparkle in his eye, the sound of his laughter, the warmth of his embrace, and the countless little moments when he made life richer and more beautiful simply by being himself.
He is survived by his wife, Roni Friday; children, Claye Hopkins, Ashlyn Friday and Tucker Friday; brothers, Michael Friday, Patrick Friday, David (Jennifer) Friday and Timothy Friday and a host of nieces and nephews.
