Clara Maughan

Clara Elliott Maughan passed away on January 30, 2022, at her home, at the age of 98.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Terry Hubert Elliot and Mattie Lou Ward Elliot; husband, John A. Maughan; grandson, Douglas Scott Leverett; sisters, Maxine Adams, Ruby Boswell, Mary Frances Guyton and Teresa Tindoll.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Bobby) Chandler of Deatsville, AL, Gayle Butler of Pike Road, AL, Donna (Scott) Gunter of Selma; son, Terry (Debbie) Maughan of Valley Grande; grandchildren, Cindy (George) Matthews of Deatsville, Chris (Tiffany) Butler of Woodridge, VA, Brian (Dana) Butler of Pike Road, John (Shanna) Maughan of Valley Grande, Christy (Chris) Alexander of Valley Grande, Ashley (Sean) Walker of Gulf Shores, Wesley (Katherine) Gunter of Valley Grande; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Bernice (Ray) Hinely of Niceville, FL and four very special caregivers in her life that she loved.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. Ed Eaton officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be George Matthews, Casey Matthews, Chris Butler, Brian Butler, John Maughan, Chris Alexander, and Wesley Gunter.
