He was preceded in death by his daughter; Deborah Renee' (Brian) Carden, granddaughter; Kristal Renee' Reams, Grandson; James Billy Means, step mother; Dean Sanders.

He is survived by his Children; Patricia Hightower (Michael), siblings; Brenda Ward, Kathy Shafer, Susan Newberry, Phillip Sanders, Robert Sanders, Frances Johnston, Lawrence Posey, David Sanders, and eight grandchildren.
