Danny Ray Ellis

Danny Ray Ellis passed away December 6, 2025 at the age of 69. He was born August 13, 1956 to the late Herman Dan Ellis and Beulah Mae Buell Lloyd.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Carnis Ann Wells Ellis; son, Brandon (Stephanie) Ellis and Justin Lane (Lakesia) Hoppe; grandchildren, Peyton Ray Ellis, Hanna Grace Ellis, Justin Lane (Kayla) Hoppe, Jr.,and Gabriel Langston (Caymen) Hoppe and sister, Trisha (Jeff) Trent.

For over 40 years, Danny dedicated himself to his craft as a traveling millwright, journeying across the country and leaving an indelible mark on all he met. His work took him to many places, but it was his devotion to his family that truly defined him. A simple man, Danny possessed a quiet strength that resonated in his kind-hearted nature. He had a wonderful sense of humor that could light up any room, making those around him feel at ease and appreciated.

Danny was also a proud veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Yosemite. His service was a testament to his character—dedicated, respectful, and always ready to lend a hand.

In his spare time, Danny enjoyed cheering for Tennessee football, sharing the excitement of each game with fellow fans. He also found joy in seeking out treasures at yard and estate sales, where he often uncovered unique items that would delight friends and family alike.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at New Covenant Presbyterian Church with Pastor Mike Perry officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. Interment will follow at New Live Oak in Selma. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.
