David Smith Frasier, age 66, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2019 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Light officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the church. The family will have a private burial at New Live Oak Cemetery.
He is preceded by his father: Oscar Smith Frasier and mother: Georgene Frasier.
Mr. Frasier is survived by his wife of 43 years: Marion Lee Frasier; sons: Mac (Margaret) Frasier, Hunt (Kathryn) Frasier; daughter: Mallie (Jim) Kilpatrick; sister: Sue Sue (Nick) Knight; nephew: Parker (Ann Bradford) Kennedy; grandsons: Liam Kilpatrick, Will Frasier and Cameron Frasier; granddaughter: Charlotte James Kilpatrick; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
David was a lifetime resident of Selma, Alabama. After being in the first graduating class from Morgan Academy he continued his education at Auburn University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Building Science in 1976 and returned to Selma to work for Frasier-Seymour General Contractors. In 2005 he was joined by partner, David Ousley and the company was renamed to Frasier-Ousley Construction and Engineering.
David was an active member of the community serving the on Chamber of Commerce Board, as Boy Scout leader, and Kiwanis Club Member. He served as President of the Kiwanis Club and as the Battle of Selma Chairman.
David also was a member of Gideons International and served as a Deacon for First Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church.
