Dawson Burton
October 9, 1933 — November 30, 2016
Dawson Lawrence Burton, age 83, of Mobile, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016.
A native of Selma, Dawson was president of the class of 1952 at Albert G. Parrish High School. He attended Auburn University and upon graduation received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Army. After a career in the Army, he retired in 1980 with the rank of Colonel.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Lois Burton; daughter: Susan Payne (Charles) of Mobile; sister: Kathleen Weill of New Orleans; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2016 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Joe Knight officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Sunday from 12-1:30 at the funeral home.
