Donald Regan Wright

Donald Regan Wright passed away March 18, 2026 at the age of 63. He was born November 10, 1962 to the late Norman David Wright, I and Daisy Adelle Wright.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Celia Lauren Wright.

A master of his trade, Donny's journey in concrete finishing spanned from the vibrant cityscape of Miami to the varied winters of Minnesota. Throughout his remarkable career, he applied his skill and passion to an array of projects—soaring high-rise buildings, enduring mills, bustling commercial centers, sturdy industrial sites, and warm residential homes. For 28 steadfast years, until the very end, Donny was a vital part of Advantage Concrete Contractors in Valley Grande, Alabama, where his hands shaped the foundation of many enduring structures.

Donny's workplace mastery was just one facet of the man he was. Known for his quiet nature and gentle smile, he carried an unassuming presence that brightened the days of those around him. He held his family close to his heart, fostering a deep love for his children and grandchildren. This love was reflected not only in words but through the countless moments of patience, care, and subtle support he quietly bestowed over the years.

Beyond the construction sites and concrete, Donny found joy and purpose in his spare time by working alongside his wife on renovating their home. He approached every task with the same precision and pride as his professional work, whether it was carpentry and trim, electrical details, or flooring. His home was not just a place of residence but a testament to his hands-on dedication and love for creating, repairing, and making a space truly their own.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathleen Wright; son, Brandon (Kimberly) Wright; granddaughters, Aubrey Wright and Addison Wright; brother, Norman David (Martha) Wright, II; mother-in-law, Phyllis Leone; sister-in-law, Christine (Kevin) Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved companions, Maggie and Mia.

Graveside services will be Friday, March 27, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Plantersville Christian Cemetery with Pastor Mike Golson officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing.

Donny Wright’s life was a tapestry woven with hard work, devotion to family, and an unspoken strength. Though he was often quiet, his consistent presence was a grounding force—a foundation as solid as the concrete he expertly finished. His legacy remains in the structures he helped build and, more importantly, in the hearts of the loved ones who carry him forward.
