Eulogy for Jenny Schroeder

We’re gathered here today to celebrate the life of a truly unforgettable woman — Jenny Schroeder, or as we all knew her, Mammaw.

Mammaw was one of a kind. She had two daughters, many grandkids, and many great-grandkids — and somehow, enough love (and opinions) for every single one of us.

Now, let’s be honest — Mammaw didn’t sugarcoat things. She told it like it was, whether you wanted to hear it or not. But behind that brutal honesty was a heart that beat strong for her family and friends. If you were hers, you knew it.

She taught us how to play Skip-Bo, dominoes, and Rook. She loved her Braves, and let’s not forget her undying love for a cold Coca-Cola.

Mammaw’s faith was a quiet strength in her life. The Bible teaches us there is a season for everything: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to break down and a time to build up, a time to weep and a time to laugh.

Mammaw claimed for years that it was her time — but God was still growing her life.

And like sand through an hour glass On July 30th, at the age of 77, the Lord decided it was her time to be called home.

Jesus left us with a promise: “There are many rooms in my Father’s house. I go to prepare a place for you.”

Mammaw has joined her Lord and Savior, where there is no sorrow, no pain, and no tears. And I know she is experiencing a joyous homecoming with her family and friends — just as we will on the day we are called home to join her.

As we say goodbye today, let’s honor Mammaw by raising a Coke and toasting to a life well lived.

We love you, Mammaw.
