Dorothy Bass Reynolds Wilkinson

Dorothy “Dot” Reynolds Wilkinson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a longtime , resident of Selma, Alabama, peacefully went to heaven on September 3, 2026, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born on October 19, 1926, and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Dot was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mott Reynolds, Sr. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clinton Seed Wilkinson, Jr., her devoted parents as well as her cherished brother, Joseph Mott Reynolds, Jr.

Dot was a proud graduate of Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University), where she became a registered laboratory technologist and served as president of her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. Her time at Auburn remained a cherished part of her life. She met her future husband there, and the friendships and memories stayed with her throughout the years.

On August 27, 1949, Dot married the love of her life, Clinton “Clint” Seed Wilkinson, Jr.. Together, they made their home in Clint’s hometown, Selma, Alabama, and shared a beautiful life filled with faith, love, family, and friendship.

Dot’s greatest love was her family. Each one was a heartstring to her. She cherished her role as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was the center of her life and the source of her greatest joy. She was a woman of grace, strength, warmth, and had a deep devotion to those she loved. Her life was enriched by meaningful relationships, treasured friendships, service to her church, and a love of family that will continue through generations.

Dot devoted many years to serving her church, Cornerstone Presbyterian. She held leadership roles with the women of the church and was a faithful Sunday school teacher. She offered her time, talents, and gifts to support the ministries and congregation she loved. Her service was an important part of her life and reflected her deep faith, generous spirit, and commitment to helping others. Her commitment extended to the clubs she loved such as Pandora and her garden club.

She is survived by her four children who adored her, Arabella Wilkinson Long (Phillip) of Lillian, AL, Dorothy “Reyndy” Wilkinson Ammons (David) of Selma, AL, Clinton “Clint” Wilkinson (Jill) of Selma, AL, and Augusta Logan “Doll” Wilkinson Searcy (Chris) of Dadeville, AL; eight grandchildren who cherished their “Honey”: Dorothy “Dot” Sheehan Havard (Chuck), Kathleen Sheehan Jones (Brian), Brittany Cowart Phan (Francis), Claire Wilkinson Mosley (Graham), Phillip Logan Cowart (Ann Carter), Anne Wilkinson Reid (Schaffer), Arabella “Reyn” Cowart Allgood (Jackson), and Charles Clinton Ammons. Dot was also treasured by her great grandchildren, bonus grandchildren, and bonus great grandchildren.

Although her passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, there is comfort in knowing that Dot has gone to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is now at peace, free from earthly cares, and reunited with her beloved husband and those who went before her.

 Memorial services will be Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church with Steve Burton officiating.

The family will hold a private graveside service.
