Dr. Robert David Simpson

Dr. “Bob” Simpson passed away at the age of 74 on July 25, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Dr. Simpson served as a radiologist in Selma for over 40 years. He is survived by his three children, Murray (Alex), Van (Taylor), and Walt; the mother of his children, Claudia; his five grandchildren, Vivienne, Georgia, Olivia, Van Arthur, and Haywood; his brother, John (Susie); and his sister, Carla (Mike).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. David Simpson and Alice Simpson, and his brother, Jim Simpson.

Beyond his medical career, Bob loved his family, great food, adopting and spoiling the most overintroduced dogs imaginable, walking a golf course, and having long theological discussions.

His grandchildren will miss many games of Whack-a-Mole with their “Doc Doc.” The birds and squirrels may lose a few pounds, and the patch of trees on hole three is now safe from golf balls.

A celebration of Dr. Bob Simpson’s life will be held Saturday, August 22, from 11 am - 1 pm at The Anchor, downtown Selma. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
