Ethan Wilson

October 31, 1996 — May 11, 2025

SPC Ethan Wilson passed away May 11, 2025 at the age of 28. He was born October 31, 1996.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenny Hicks; grandmother, Eileen Flowers.

Ethan’s journey began in Dallas County, where he was a proud graduate of Dallas County High School in 2015. His dedication to his country led him to serve as a track vehicle mechanic in the U.S. Army Reserves within The 316th Engineer Company, stationed out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, he not only honed his technical skills but also developed strong bonds with his fellow service members. Known for his leadership qualities, Ethan kept the members of his unit on their toes, turning every moment into a teaching opportunity.

Ethan’s passion for mechanics did not wane. He worked alongside Derek Washington and Glenn Hollingshead in their mechanic shops in Selma, where his skills shined bright. Ethan had a profound love for all things vehicles and mechanics, particularly when it came to tinkering with vehicle speakers. His hands would often be found busy at work, transforming the ordinary into extraordinary through his creative talents.

Beyond his mechanical prowess, Ethan was a character in every sense of the word. He had an incredible ability to connect with everyone he met, and his friends fondly recall how he never met a stranger. His playful spirit, humor, and willingness to embrace challenges endeared him to many. He had a sweet soul, and his kindness and compassion were evident in every interaction.

Ethan was a man of many accomplishments, yet one of his proudest moments was attending police cadet school.

He is survived by his parents, Lee and Fran Wilson; siblings, Kacey (Austin) Weekley, Morgan (Jeffery) Allday, Evynn Wilson (Austin Moore) and Taylor (Justice) Ricks; nieces and nephews, Marie Weekley, Sarah Weekley, McKenzie Allday and Barrett Allday; grandmothers, Kay Hicks and Peggy Weeks; aunts and uncles, Pam (Donnie) Nevin, Tim (Tammy) Burton, Dusty (Chris) McLain, Glenn Hollingshead and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be Monday, May 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma. Visitation will begin at the funeral home, beginning at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Nevin, Brad Oliver, Derrick Washington, Sloan Whitfield, Jeffery Allday, Austin Weekly, Austin Moore, Alan Gaylor and Shaquille "Blue" Mathis.
