Francis Alex Easters was born January 15, 1939 in Troy, Alabama. In 1941, his family moved to Dallas County. After graduation he went into the Air Force where he served in South Dakota, then returned to Selma, Alabama to raise his family.
 
He passed away peacefully at his home on September 27, 2023.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Siler and Alma Jordan Easters, as well as his daughter, Scarlett Easters Gamache.
 
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Rives Easters; sister, Billie June Persons; son, Lloyd (Beth) Easters and daughter, Barbara (Jimmy) Campbell; grandsons, Benjamin Rives Easters, Nicholas Charles Easters and Evan Hardy Eskridge and granddaughter, Julia Racyn Easters.
 
In addition to Alex's dedication and love for his family, he lived a full life of service. He served in the Air Force at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. He was a Deacon Emeritus and a member of the Maverick class at First Baptist Church in Selma. Alex retired from Bush Hog in Research and Development after 43 years of loyal service.
 
Graveside services will be Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at New Live Oak Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Lee Tate officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
 
Honorary pallbearers will be the Maverick class at First Baptist Church, Selma, Alabama.
 
The family would like to thank the dedicated nurses and aides of SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice for their care and concern, the First Baptist Church family, the doctors and staff at Vaughan Regional Medical Center, Dr. Park Chittom, Sr. and Dr. Richard Johnson.
