Hazel A. Vasser passed away February 22, 2026 at the age of 97. She was born November 30, 1928 in Selma, Alabama to the late Lester Avritt and Annie Mable Avritt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. "Bill" Vasser; son, Donald Edward Vasser and brother, Lester Lee Avritt, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Charles A. (Edna) Vasser; grandchildren, William "Bill" E. (Jennifer) Vasser, Lisa Jones, Brandy (Anthony) Adams, James Smith and Larry Smith and great-grandson, Tyreek Adams.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Wyatt officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at the funeral home in Selma at 12:00 p.m., prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Ben Cosby, Larry Smith, Buster Zuelzke, Terrell Jones, Bill Vasser and other friends and family.
