Listen to Obituary

Helen Patricia "Pat" Jones peacefully entered the gates of Heaven, into the arms of Jesus on November 2, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born January 6, 1942 to the late Franklin Carey and Helen Rebecca Thompson Carey.

Pat dedicated approximately ten years of her life to her career as an operator for the phone company, yet her true calling revealed itself through her commitment to her family. As a loving military wife, Pat followed her husband, Murray, across the globe while raising three young children. Their journey took them from the vast landscapes of Africa to the historical charm of England and the sun-soaked shores of Spain, all while raising three young children. Pat's ability to adapt and thrive in various cultures showcased her spirit and resilience, character traits that her family admired deeply.

Beyond her life as a dedicated mama and supportive wife, Pat found joy and fulfillment in the simplest of pleasures. She possessed a passion for riding her motorcycle, feeling the freedom of the open road, and relished the serene moments spent bass fishing beside Murray. However, her greatest pleasure resided in caring for her family. Pat had a knack for bringing people together, often hosting backyard cookouts that filled the air with laughter, the aroma of delicious food, and cherished memories. Her love for slow country living allowed her to connect with nature and enjoy moments of tranquility, embodying a warmth that enveloped those around her.

Pat's proudest accomplishments lie in the values she instilled in her children—raising them with God's grace and mercy and unfailingly supporting them throughout their lives. Her nurturing nature and steadfast encouragement left an indelible mark on their lives, shaping them into the individuals they are today.

She was then welcomed to her eternal home by those who went before her; the love of her life, Murray Jones; her beautiful daughter, Debbie Jones; her precious grandson, Scott Jones - who she worshiped until her last breath as well as her sisters, Shirley, Linda and baby, Sandra and brother, Thomas.

She is survived by her children, Billy (Beverly) Jones, Darlene (Jimmy) Nichols; grandchilren, Shana (Kevin) Gibbs, Kelsey (Shane) Gaut, Brandon (Sarah) Nichols, Melissa (Larry) Cooper; great-grandchildren, Colton Gibbs, Ryker Gaut, Raegan Nichols, Blake Nichols, Bailey Cooper and Tristan Cooper; sisters, Elaine, Nancy and Judy as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
