Hester C. Hoggle

Hester C. Hoggle, age 94, of Alexander City, Alabama, formally of Selma, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday October 6, 2026.

She was born in Bibb County, Alabama to the late Gary and Gracie Smitherman. Hester was Homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her sons, Barry Church and Glenn Church; sisters, Mary Lou Pierce and Maggie Mae Cyree; brothers, Bill Smitherman, L.B. Smitherman, Joseph Dean Smitherman and Willard Alison Smitherman.

She is survived by her children, Wendell (Bernadine)  Church, Walter (Toni) Church, Lolita (Roger) Still and Crystal (Leroy) Humphrey; sisters, Arlene Thrower, Madelyn Davis; brothers, James Alison Smitherman and Bobby Gene Smitherman; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday October 12, 2026  in the Chapel of Lawrence Brown Funeral Home. With graveside services following at 11:00 a.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
