Howell Grady Belvin, 87, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026. Born on August 5, 1938, Grady lived a life centered on his faith, his family, and the simple joys that made every day meaningful.

Grady was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Belvin; his parents, Ruby and Howell Belvin; and his sisters, Jeanette Lawrence (Alton) and Edith Wilson (Frank).

He is survived by his son, David Belvin (Sheila); his grandchildren, Sam Belvin (Amanda), Jennifer Inglish (Wiggy), and Jason Greene; his great-grandchildren, Aldyn Belvin, Gretchyn Sheffield, Dustyn Sheffield, and Nova Belvin; his brother, John Ed Belvin (Brenda); his nieces, Barbara Smitherman (James) and Helen Lawrence; along with numerous cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

Grady spent many years with Winn-Dixie before retiring. He believed in working hard, treating people with kindness, and always putting family first. Those who knew him will remember a man of quiet strength, gentle humor, and unwavering character.

His faith was the foundation of his life. Grady faithfully served as a deacon in several churches over the years, not for recognition, but because serving the Lord and serving others was simply who he was.

Grady had a gift for storytelling. He loved sharing memories from his younger days, especially the adventures of flying with a friend who crop-dusted fields before taking off for the beach. Whether you were hearing the story for the first time or the tenth, it was always special because Grady was the one telling it.

He found joy in the simple things—sitting on the porch watching the world go by, spending time on his tractor, cutting grass, watching golf, and enjoying just about any sweet treat that came his way. While he and his beloved wife, Jane, lived in Jones, he lovingly cared for her flowers, a quiet reflection of the love they shared.

More than anything, Grady loved his family. He treasured every visit, every conversation, and every opportunity to spend time with those he loved. His greatest legacy isn’t found in what he owned, but in the values he passed down through his example: faith, humility, hard work, and unconditional love.

The stories Grady shared, the faith he lived, and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. His life was a reminder that the greatest impact is often made not through extraordinary moments, but through a lifetime of quiet faithfulness, steadfast love, and simple acts of kindness.
