James Cheshire

James Patrick Cheshire passed away February 10, 2018 at the age of 61. He was born April 18, 1956 in Selma, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John W. and Hermenia Shanahan McCarty; paternal grandparents, Cecil T. and Kathleen Scates Cheshire and his father, James W. Cheshire.

He is survived by his mother, Faye McCarty Cheshire of Lowndes; sister, Shannon Cheshire Benton of Lowndes; nephew, Joseph Clayton Benson of Birmingham; niece, Mary Caitlyn Benson of Selma; uncle, Glenn W. Cheshire of Rowland Heights, California, and numerous cousins.

Pat was a brilliant, distinguished, and outstanding lawyer and a loving and caring brother, son, and uncle.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Selma, Alabama with Father Richard Myhalyk officiating. Interment will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be J. Clayton Benson, Andrew Jackson Hardin, Joseph H. Hagood, III, Harris Huffman, Jr., Bill Formby, and Ken White. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Day, Jack Garner, John Carchedi and Frank Walburn.
