James Poe

James Loyd Poe passed from this life into eternity on October 6, 2018 at the age of 79. He was born August 3, 1939 to the late William Howard Poe and Viva Dean Utley Poe.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Crosspoint Christian Church with Rev. Alan Yarbrough and Robby Davis officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Ann Poe; daughter, Melinda (Mike) Nichols; son, Kenneth James Poe; grandchildren, Aimee (Beau) Krenz, Christopher (Sarah) Poe and Emilee (Robby) Davis; great-grandchildren, Elijah “Eli” Davis, Judah Krenz, Kara-Lee Kaye Davis, Jonah James Krenz and Noah Thomas Nichols; siblings, Wanda (Ed) Blackmon and Elizabeth Sollers and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kaye Jacobs Poe and brother-in-law, Mike Sollers.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Poe, Robby Davis, Beau Krenz, Daryl Whitaker, Steve Lane and Roger Blackmon. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of SelCom and Central Alabama Insulation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
