J.C. Sheehan

J. C. Sheehan passed away January 17, 2022 in Demopolis, Alabama at the age of 91. He was born in Orrville, Alabama September 21, 1930 to the late Johnnie Feldon Sheehan and Lisa Melvine Morgan Sheehan.

Born into a farming family in Orrville, Alabama, where he spent most of his life, JC was drafted into the Army at the age of 18. While serving in the armed forces, he assisted in the construction of Camp David. JC was a devoted member and Elder of Cambridge Christian Church where he raised his five boys alongside his wife of 49 years, Kathleen Robertson Sheehan.

For the majority of his life, JC was a cattle and row crop farmer, earning the title of Dallas County’s FHA Farmer of the Year in 1972. He later served on their board.

In his later years, Clifford loved to garden and everyone in the community, family and friends alike, enjoyed his fresh produce that he generously gave with a kind heart.

JC took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen R. Sheehan; sons, James Ronald Sheehan and Christopher Sheehan; brother, William Pratt (Rena) Sheehan and sisters, Clara Bell (Cornelius) Champion and Essie Mae (John) Brown.

He is survived by his sons, Cliff (Christi) Sheehan, Tike (Lisa) Sheehan and Terry Sheehan; grandchildren, Dorothy (Chuck) Havers, Kathleen (Brian) Jones, Valerie Jones, James (Kyanna) Sheehan, Dawn (Matthew) Curtis, Kelly (Bain) McLaughlin and TJ (Mara) Sheehan; nine great-grandchildren, niece, Bill Nickles and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Cambridge Christian Church Cemetery with Dr. Ed Eaton officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Bobo Sheehan, Henry Champion, Randy Sheehan, Matthew Curtis, Brian Jones and Donnie Sheehan.
