Johney Young, Sr.

Johney M. Young, Sr. passed away March 23, 2018 at the age of 66. He was born August 18, 1951 to Donald E. Young, Sr. and Marinello Williams.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; James and Zada Williams; Mr. and Mrs. Smith Young; parents, Donald E. Young, Sr. and Marinello Overfield; sisters, Mary Jo Farley and Nelda Ann Young.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Young; step-father, William Overfield; children, Mike (Ashley) Young and Melissa (Patrick) Wood; step-son, Chris (April) Ezelle; grandchildren, Michael Young, Abigail Wood, Christian Ezelle and Christopher Ezelle; brothers, Don (Stacey) Young, Jr. and James (Jacqueline) Young; brother-in-law, Gary (Joy) Lewellen; sister-in-law, Sharon (Neal) Clary; mother-in-law, Eunice Lewellen and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, March 26, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. A procession will follow to New Live Oak Cemetery for a graveside service that will begin at 2:30 p.m. with Jimbo Small officiating.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Steward, Joe Crovato, David Ethridge, Glenn Moore, Larry Jones and Tommy Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Hollingshead, Yanke Cargill, Frankie Rogers, Joe Massey, Bruce Fuller and Randall Wade.
