Juanita Hardy Houston, a beloved sister, aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt, of Plantersville, Alabama, passed away peacefully October 3,2026, at Park Place Nursing Home in Selma. She was born on December 13, 1937.

Nita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eulin Houston; her mother, Phae Dalene Durbin Hardy Mull; her brother, Wayne (Carolyn) Hardy; and her niece, Sherri Miller.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother, Garland (Dianne) Hardy; niece, Rhonda (Bryan) Johnson; great-nieces, Kaitlyn (Walter) Campbell and Kellee (Kunal Sinha) Abbott; great-nephew, Justin (Brandi) Abbott; and great-great-niece, Willa Campbell.

Juanita retired from AT&T after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed a peaceful retirement filled with the things she loved most. An outdoorswoman at heart, Juanita especially enjoyed fishing at her lake house. Later, she made her home in Plantersville, where she treasured the time she spent with her great-nieces and great-nephew.

Juanita found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved being outdoors and could often be found puttering around in her yard, tending to the things around her home. Her gentle spirit, love of family, and enjoyment of the outdoors will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at Plantersville Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM with Bro. Jerry Harrison, Jr. officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. Interment will follow in the church graveyard. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Plantersville Baptist Church Youth Group, c/o Plantersville Baptist Church, 201 Pecan Road, Plantersville, AL 36758.

Pallbearers will be Walter Campbell, Bryan Johnson, Darren Atchison, David Wright, Jarvis McGee and Raymond Cook.  Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Plantersville Baptist Church.

Juanita’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
