Julie Francis Yelverton

Julia Frances McCormick Yelverton “Julie” passed away May 23, 2026 surrounded by her family and friends after a lengthy illness. She was born February 28, 1956, the daughter of the late Marion Swift McCormick and Libby Perry McCormick.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, David Massey, Jr.

She is survived by her sister, Emily McCormick Massey; nephew, David "Trey" (Kelly) Massey, III.; niece, Amanda "Mandy" (John) Wolf and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Julie was a 1974 graduate of John T. Morgan Academy. She continued her education at the University of Alabama, where she was affiliated with Kappa Delta Sorority, and later attended Georgia Tech, where she earned a degree in Laboratory Technology.

Julie dedicated 40 years of faithful service to Vaughn Memorial Hospital as a laboratory technician. Her work was more than a career; it was an extension of her caring heart and her desire to help others. A devoted Christian, Julie loved the Lord and lived her faith in a quiet, beautiful way. She loved her family deeply, treasured her many friends, and had a gift for making others feel cared for and remembered. Through her kindness, compassion, and faithful service to her community, Julie touched countless lives.

She spent much of her life caring for others, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.

The family will hold a private service.
