Lamar Lester passed away December 18, 2025 at the age of 68. He was born November 24, 1957 to the late Charles Jefferson Lester and Lula Mae Crocker.
He spent many years as a welder's helper on an off-shore oil rig. His hands, which crafted and shaped metal with care and precision, always carried the warmth of his big heart. Lamar was known for his selflessness; he always put the needs of others before his own, never wanting anyone to worry about him. His humility and compassion painted a portrait of a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A quiet individual at heart, Lamar cherished nature and often found solace in fishing and hunting. These activities were not merely hobbies for him; they were moments of peace, where he could connect with the earth and reflect.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Linda Lester.
He is survived by his brothers, Melvin (Brenda) Lester and Gary Lester; nieces and nephews, Shane (Paige) Gregg, Michelle (Curtis) Mott, Christina Pouncey, Carmen Yale; great-nieces and nephews, Caleb Lester, Brooklyn Pouncey, Brett (Andrea) Gregg and Bryant Gregg; a host of great-great-nieces and nephews and his dear friends, Buck Savoy and Blair Cummingham.
