Lawrence Jackson Booker

Lawrence Booker passed away February 2, 2026 at the age of 77. He was born October 14, 1948 to the late Francis Jackson Booker and Mamie Louise Booker.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Cissy Wade; father and mother-in-law, Travis Barnes, Jr. and Mary Barnes.

For many years, he worked at Selma National Bank as comptroller and Hammer Mill. His hard work ethic was a reflection of the values instilled in him blending creativity with precision and he took great pride in each project he undertook.

Mr. Booker loved being retired and spending time with Amy, the love of his life of 38 years. In March of 2025, they moved closer to be with his daughter, Marybeth (Sam) Moore and his grandchildren.

He loved spending time fishing and watching Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves. He is survived by his wife, Amy Barnes Booker; son, Paul Booker; daughter, Mary Beth Moore; grandchildren, James Booker, William Booker, Emily Moore and Jacob Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Selma.
