Leander "Lee" Nathaniel Calame, III, a beloved figure in the hearts of many, passed away on June 26, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on August 23, 1949, Lee dedicated his life to both his career and his family, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
For over 35 years, Lee served as a business accountant, where his expertise and dedication were greatly valued. A proud graduate of Auburn University in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, he approached his work with a passion that transformed the lives of those around him. His colleagues will remember him not only for his professional acumen but also for the outgoing nature that defined him. “He made people better.”

His loving guidance and unwavering support shaped their lives profoundly, establishing an enduring bond that will echo through generations.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Lee’s enthusiasm for nature was infectious. He found solace in the tranquil embrace of the woods, particularly during his cherished spring mornings spent turkey hunting. His proficiency in the sport showcased not only his skills but also his passion, which he eagerly shared with others. Lee dedicated time to teaching young people about the outdoors, imparting knowledge on hunter safety and gun safety courses. These moments were not only educational; they were opportunities for him to bond with the next generation, including his treasured grandchildren, marking memories that will last a lifetime.
Lee's love for the outdoors extended beyond hunting. He thrived in nature, embracing every chance to connect with the environment and share this joy with those around him. When not hunting, he enjoyed the exhilaration of watching sports, whether it was baseball, basketball, or football.
