Lila Ruth Smith

Lila Ruth Smith, age 74, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 23, 2026. She was born on October 16, 1951 to the late James and Carlie Fountain.

Lila was a seamstress in apparel manufacturing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Smith; son, Ernest Bryant Lawrence; siblings, Brenda Kay Bickerstaff and James Larry Fountain.

She is survived by her life partner, Ricky Lawrence; nieces, Cathi (Jeff) Deason, Lawana (Danny) Savage; nephew, James (Brenda) Carswell;

nine great nieces and nephews and eighteen great-great nephews, nieces and grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens with Lawrence Brown-Service  Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ernie Potts, Jared McKinney, Jeff Deason, Chris Smith, Rodney Lewis and Ernie Brink. Honorary Pallbearer will be Gerald Wilson.
