Martha Beane Warren passed away January 24, 2024, in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
She was born April 7, 1938, in West Blocton, Alabama, moving to Selma, Alabama, as a child with her parents, Cecil Thomas and Maudie Lawley Beane.
She was a graduate of Orrville High School and WCCS School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in the recovery department of Vaughan Hospital until her retirement. She was a huge supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. She served as a Boy Scout den mother for many years and received the Silver Beaver Award, the highest civilian award in scouting. She was a sustaining member of the Selma Charity League. She loved her community and supported it any way she could. She enjoyed working in her yard and was a master gardener. She loved her grandchildren and was the best Mimi ever. She was a long-time member of Elkdale Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Albert Warren; son, Charles Albert Warren Jr.; and brother, Cecil Wayne Beane.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Kitty) Warren, Glen Burnie, MD, David (Allison) Warren, Powder Springs, GA, and Elizabeth (Doug) Hopp, Stuttgart, Germany; grandchildren, Jay (Emily) Diebold, Lindsie (Garrett) Buchanan, Meg (Rob) Sutton, MaKayla Hopp, Emma Hopp, Ryan and Tyler Warren, Crystal Lin, Claire, Katharine, Anna and Gus Warren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Cope; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Betty Warren; sister-in-law, Martha Green and special friends, Martha Wright, Ida Boykin and Sueoliver Jackson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Elkdale Baptist Church with Lawrence Brown Service Funeral Home directing. A private burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from beginning at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.
