Mary Frith Maloney

December 17, 1947 — May 9, 2023

Mary Frith Maloney, 75, of Warrensburg, Missouri died peacefully at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri on May 9, 2023. She was born in Selma, Alabama to Rossie and Lula Mae (Campbell) Frith on December 17, 1947, and grew up on the family farm in Lawley, Alabama.

Mary graduated from Wallace Community College where she received her Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. She then attended the University of Tennessee where she graduated with her nursing degree. After nursing school, she attended and graduated from the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia. Mary was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and spent most of her career working in Nashville, Tennessee. She finished her career at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

On June 11, 1995, she was united in marriage to Elvin Maloney in Warrensburg, Missouri who preceded her in death on September 9, 2021.

In addition to her love of working, Mary enjoyed traveling, cooking, entertaining, shopping, attending church, being with her friends and family and sewing. Mary’s greatest love in life was spending time and spoiling her precious grandsons, which without a doubt, were the light of her life.

Mary was a member of Kingsville Seventh-day Adventist Church. In her later years, she attended the Warrensburg (Crossroads) Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mary loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. Over the years, she and Elvin worked with Steps to Christ and other Adventist organizations to spread the Three Angel’s gospel message. She was a big believer in Adventist education, supporting Summit View Adventist School in Lee’s Summit, MO and Laurelbrook Academy in Dayton, TN with various fundraising projects. Mary provided funds over the years so that many young people could attend Adventist Christian Schools.

Although she left the farm to live in Tennessee and then Missouri, Mary’s love of the family farm and Alabama never faded. Several years ago, when her husband Elvin purchased several tracts of land to assemble a large commercial site near Walmart in Warrensburg, Missouri, she immediately lobbied for the large pine trees on that property to remain as it reminded her of the pine trees in Alabama. Her husband granted her wishes.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Rachel Terry, and her husband, Jeff, of Warrensburg, Missouri; four grandsons, Jacob Terry, and his wife, Kennedy, of Knob Noster, Missouri; William Terry, Alexander Terry, and Bryson Terry, all of Warrensburg, Missouri, and one great-granddaughter, Coastlyn Terry.

She is also survived by one sister, Angeline Frith, of Lawley, Alabama; brother, Steven Frith and his wife, Nelda, of Lawley, Alabama and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Frank Frith, Kenneth Frith and Melvin Frith.

A visitation will be held at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg, Missouri on May 12, 2023, from 2-3 PM.
