Mattie Florence Stricklin

Mattie Florence Stricklin passed away June 26, 2026 at the age of 86. She was born July 28, 1939 to the late Albert and Jewel Johnson in Jewel, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Stricklin; daughter, Rebekah Anne Stricklin Smith; son, Stephen E. Stricklin; great-grandsons, Killean Clay Adms and Jason Chandler Higginbotham.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Jennifer Ann McCormick and Bobbie Sheree Cribb; great-grandchildren, Bobby Jarrett Wyatt, Jr., Dallas Ann Chisnall, Lindsay McCormick and Braydon McCormick; niece, Diane Lawrence (Billy) Thompson and their family.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. George Wood officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Billy Thompson, Mark Lawrence, Jeff Lawrence and friends and family.

Honorary pallbearers will be her life-long friends, Dorothy Albritton, JoAnn Long, Diane Lee, Bernadine Sissy Smith, the late Sandra Boswell and her newest faithful friend, John McGinnis and the Adult Sunday School Class of Crosspoint Christian Church.
