Mildred Walker Holloway, age 83 of Marion Junction, Alabama passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026 after a lengthy illness. She was born October 18, 1942 to the late Clarence Roy Walker, Jr. and Alice Bell Brandenburg in Mobile, Alabama.
She lived her early years in Mobile, Alabama, and it is there where she met Norman Robert Alvin Holloway of Pensecola, Florida. They moved to Selma, Alabama in 1964, where they raised their five children. She worked at factories in Selma including Phillies Cigar, Pilliod Furniture and later retired from All Lock. Those jobs provided her with a network of close friends that she cherished dearly and had fond memories of. She attended Water Avenue Baptist Church and later Dallas Avenue Baptist Church.
After retirement and the death of her husband, she found great joy in the craft of ceramics. Her days spent there allowed her to make lasting gifts for family and friends that are cherished today. She passed this joy on to her granddaughter, Rachael, and they frequently went together and shared this special time together. She loved working in the yard, whether it was raking leaves or pine straw or picking up sticks. Her grandson, Joe was always there to help his MawMaw. Sitting on the porch overlooking her well-manicured yard gave her great satisfaction, almost as much as her word search books that she spent hours with.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Holloway; son, Robert Dale Holloway; grandchildren, Zachary Austin, Trey Holloway and Caleb Holloway; sons-in-law, William Dennis Flowers and Van Daniels; sister, Faye Walker; brothers, Clarence Walker, III and William Walker.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce H. Daniels and Vickie H. Austin (Sean Bohannon) of Selma, Belinda (Ray) Herring of Pensecola, Florida; son, Terry Holloway of Marion, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Gina Holloway of Elberta, Alabama; son-in-law, Benny Austin of Valley Grande; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nephews, Jerry (Ann) Huckabee and Clarke (Lannie) Holloway, both of Sweet Water, AL.
Graveside services will be Friday, February 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Mike Watts and Rev. Jonathan Shanks officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing.
Pallbearers will be Joe Austin, Cameron Flowers, Sawyer Daniels, Robbie Flowers, Logan Daniels, Eric Flowers and Clarke Holloway.
