Ronald Lee Adams

Ronald Lee Adams passed away peacefully July 2, 2025 at the age of 88, surrounded by his family. He was born March 19, 1937 to the late Plez and Cora Adams.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 58 years, Sara Francis Fox Adams; his parents; father and mother-in-law, Harry and Salena Fox, Sr.; sisters, Mary Wardwell, Shirley Pierce and Loretta Adams and brother-in-law, Harry Fox, Jr.

He was an active member and deacon of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Burnsville, Alabama. He was a member of the Alabama Cattleman's Association, and well known for growing the best watermelons. He retired after 42 years of contract logging to farm and raise cattle.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Sandra Faye Willette Roberts Adams; daughter, Kim (Jim) Roberts; son, Ronald E. (Michelle) Adams; grandchildren, Chris Adams, Sarah (Jake) Wright, Michael (Blair) Adams, Justin (Christina) Roberts, Wes (Morgan) Robzycki, Amy (Blake) Jones and Hannah (Adam) Ellis; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Jim) Adams, cousin, Maryanne (Blaine) Brown and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Wyatt and Bro. John Barfoot officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande. The family will begin receiving friends at the church, beginning at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Chris Adams, Michael Adams, Justin Roberts, Wes Robzycki, Jake Wright, Blake Jones, Cole Frith and Henry Weber. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Archie Blevins, Ray Epperson, Jimmy Friday, Brooke King, Danny Nichols, Doug Nichols, Clarence Mixon, Willie "Honey" Peat, Sonny Pfieffer, Wayne Shirah, Calvin Taylor, Scott Taylor and Willie James Wheeler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church; Designated Special Projects; 234 County Road 83, Selma, Alabama 36703.
