Rosemary Turner

December 6, 1935 — June 17, 2019

Rosemary Heinz Turner passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019, after a lengthy illness.  She was preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth Raiford Heinz and Melvin Curtis Heinz, and her sisters, Ullma Elizabeth Heinz and Carolyn Heinz Knight.

Born December 6, 1935, in Selma, Alabama, Mrs. Turner was a 1953 graduate of Albert G. Parrish High School.  She attended Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia and was graduated from the University of Alabama.

A life-long member of Church Street United Methodist Church, Mrs. Turner was also a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, Kappa Delta Social Sorority, and a former member of the William Rufus King Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Milam Turner, Jr., daughter, Frances Elizabeth Turner, son, William Milam Turner III and his wife Daneen, and three grandchildren, William Milam Turner IV, George Edward Turner, and Maryanna Frances Turner.   She is also survived by a sister Mildred “Tutter” Heinz Lamb (Frank), a brother Melvin Curtis Heinz, Jr., and nieces Lynda Lamb Broxton (Ed)  and Turner James Barringer (Victor), nephews Lamar Lamb (Jacinda)and Paul James, Jr. (Shana), a brother-in-law Paul James, great nieces and nephews, along with many Heinz cousins.  The Family is grateful to Homestead Hospice, Charlotte Spicer, Roslyn Jones, Lillie Austin, Natasha Austin, and Sierra Williams for their thoughtful care.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 10:00am in New Live Oak Cemetery with the Reverend Lance Eiland of Church Street United Methodist Church officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.   In lieu of flowers and if desired, memorials may be made to Church Street United Methodist Church, Homestead Hospice,  Alzheimer’s Foundation of America,  or a charity of your choice.
