Ruth Pauline Kirkham

Ruth Pauline Kirkham, age 95, passed away at her home on Friday, August 28, 2026. She was born in Greensboro, Alabama to the late James and Lucy Compton.

Ruth worked as a supervisor for Vanity Fair.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Kirkham; brother, Joseph Earl Compton and sister, Ella Grace Glaze.

She is survived by her daughter, Harriet K. (Mark) Rutledge; grandson, Travis Rutledge; granddaughter, Courtney Rutledge; great-granddaughter, Jaynie B. Rutledge; sister, Nell Glass; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal companion, Mary(Reene) Williams.

Graveside services will be Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown, Alabama, with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing and Gary Courtney officiating.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Glass, Jamie Guy, Ernest Strother, John Henry Williams, David Gunter and Travis Rutledge.

Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Rutledge.
