Sharon Moore Bettius passed away September 2, 2025 at the age of 68. She was born October 26, 1956 to the late Dr. Ewing Jones Moore, Jr. and Nina Spinks Moore.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ewing Jones Moore, Sr., maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bell Spinks. She was also preceded by her infant brother, William Kenneth Moore and niece, Ashley Moore Norris. 

She is survived by her brother, Jon Ashley (Debbie) Moore; sister, Celia Moore (William) Kramer; nieces and nephews, Ewing Jones (Ashley) Moore, III, Courtney Ann Kramer and Brett William Kramer; great-nieces and nephews, Faulkner Ann Norris, Jackson Yates Norris, McKenzee Layton Moore and Margaret Ann Moore.

Sharon was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Masters degree in Accountancy. She was an Alumnus of the Psi Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.

Sharon has been Senior Managing Director and /or firm practice leader for FTI Consulting, Inc, Arthur Andersen, LP, and Deloitte, LLC. She has been published in various periodicals and in books published by Commerce Clearing House and McGraw Hill.

She was appointed as a member of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in 2016, and promoted to Officer Sister in 2020. She was an active member of the Priory in the United States, serving as a member of Chapter and several national committees.

Known affectionately as "Aunt Dude" to many who loved her, Sharon's spirit of generosity shone through her many thoughtful gifts and the relationships she nurtured throughout her life. She traveled widely around the world, forming lasting memories in every corner she visited, exemplifying her deep appreciation for the world around her. Her independent and fashionable nature became her trademark, reminding those who knew her of the importance of self-expression and authenticity.

Sharon's life was a beautiful tapestry of experiences woven together by her love for adventure, her artistic endeavors, and her sincere desire to bring joy to others. While she has departed from this world, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. In remembering Sharon Moore Bettius, we celebrate a remarkable life filled with warmth, creativity, and a relentless zest for life.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home At Pineview in Valley Grande with Rev. Lee Tate officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at the funeral home in Valley Grande at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Jones Moore, Brett Kramer, Drew Snyder, Hank Payne, Shawn Wilkins and Mike Reynolds.

Honorary Pallbearer will be John Capps.
