Victor Dale Quigley passed away August 13, 2026 at the age of 69. He was born in North Carolina on August 29, 1956 to the late Eugene Quigley and Ellen Eugenia Collier Quigley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Marlene Quigley; sister, Deborah "Sue" Doney; Danny Ross and Harold Quigley; sisters-in-law, Alice Quigley and Mary Quigley.

Victor’s time on this earth was a testament to hard work and devotion—rooted deep in both his profession and his passions. Victor possessed a rare mechanical intuition. He turned what began as a sideline fixing tractors into a thriving business: Custom Chassis. For over three decades, his hands, worn but steady, breathed new life into battered machines and, in doing so, gave stability to the community he loved.

His wife stood beside him in the shop, working as his assistant until her passing in 2017. Together, they built more than a business; they forged a partnership and way of life that welcomed customers as friends and friends as family. Even outside of work, Victor’s heart remained with engines and the thrill of the race. His drag racer, tirelessly crafted and fine-tuned over the years, was his pride and joy. Every weekend, he could be found at I-22 Motorsports Park among friends, the roar of engines and the pulse of excitement serving as the soundtrack to memories made and stories shared. Victor joined companions at Hardees’ each morning—sharing in laughter and camaraderie over cups of coffee that warmed both hands and hearts.

Victor’s resilience is the stuff of legend. Even after the loss of his leg, he embodied determination, climbing onto tractors and continuing to work, refusing to be defined by adversity. His was a spirit that inspired, a work ethic beyond compare, earning him both respect and deep admiration from all who crossed his path.

Generous to the core, Victor lived his life in acts of giving, his kindness touching the lives of friends, customers, and strangers alike. Though he was always a man of few words, his eyes would light up when talk turned to racing, and his modesty belied a heart full of warmth and a lifetime of unmistakable impact.

He is survived by his daughters, Kayla (Josh) Radford and Janice Bowden ; grandchildren, Kristen (Blake) Bell, Magan Elsea (Tyler Roberts), Lauren Ellis, Ellianna Radford and Callie Radford, great-grandchildren, Auron Hitchcock, Lillian Bell, Caroline Roberts, Kendall Roberts, Bodhi Bullock; brothers, Jack (Kathy) Quigley, Larry Quigley, Bobby Quigley and Ruell Green; sisters, Dora (Cecil) Ballance and Carol (Richard) Woodford.

Graveside services will be August 22, 2026 at 11:15 a.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Mike Wyatt officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Selma from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Jason Simmons, Michael Harrison, Mike Ross, Red Lovelady, Mickle Terry and Josh Radford. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Quigley, Larry Quigley, Bobby Quigley and Billy Green.
