Virginia Diane Collins

Virginia Diane Collins, age 79 and formerly of Selma, passed away at her home in Camden, Alabama. She was  born in Selmer, Tennessee to the late Robert and Virginia Shelby.

Diane graduated from Parrish High School and attended George C. Wallace Community College. She retired after fifteen years from Selma City Hall.

Diane is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Anthony Shelby.

She is survived by her children, Scott Collins, Todd (Janice) Collins and April (Lynn) Collins; sisters, Denise (Gordan) Denniston and Pat (Alex) Tyndall; grandchildren, Rusty (Goodie) Collins, Cody Collins, Jennifer (Lorenzo) Guidoni, Sierra Dolbear, Lonnie (Harley) Hargreaves, Jasmine (Frankie) Martin, Tina Brown, Breana (Conrad) Kurts; great-grandchildren, Alexander Dolbear, Nick Dolbear, Coen Dolbear, Lillee Dolbear, Sylvie-Kate Hargreaves, Jasper Martin, Elijah Martin, Mason Collins, Bryce Brown, Mariska Kurts, and numerous neices, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Blake officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Hargreaves, Frankie Martin, TJ Maness, Cody Collins, Lorenzo Guidoni and Conner Havard.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Alexander Dolbear.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association .
