Ann Hendrix

February 11, 1934 — December 9, 2020

Ann Osburn Hendrix, age 86, a resident of Selma, AL passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents Hazel Skipper Osburn and Carter Boyd Osburn; her husband, Harold A. Hendrix; and daughter, Angela Hendrix DeLaitsch.

She is survived by daughter, Lisa A. Hendrix Nichols (Gilbert) of Montgomery, AL; daughter, Harriet H. Seal (Louis) of Ridgeland, MS; granddaughter, Ashley DeLaitsch Vance (Jeremy) of Hattiesburg, MS; grandson, Curtis Hendrix Seal (Katherine) of Mountain Brook, AL; grandson, Tyler Ashton Seal of Daphne, AL; and great-grandson, Jeremy Allen Vance, Jr.

Mrs. Hendrix was a retired real estate agent and part owner of Heritage Real Estate Company serving the Selma area for over 25 years as a well-trusted and dedicated realtor. Other than her family and her love for the family home (“The Bay House”) in Gulf Shores, AL , selling real estate was her passion and she dedicated many years to the real estate business. She served as President of the Women’s Board of Realtors in 1986 and was also a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors.

She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Selma, AL. She had been a resident of the assisted living facility at Cedar Hill at Vaughan Place for the past three years. She truly loved all of the wonderful staff and friends there and her family will be forever grateful for all of the love and support that was given to her.

Although the family would love to welcome her friends and share our love in a celebration of her life, the family will have a private, family burial at Shell Banks Baptist Church Cemetery in Gulf Shores, AL with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christmas fund for the loving staff and employees of Cedar Hill; 1300 Old Orrville Road, Selma, Alabama 36701.
