Billy Kellum

Billy Wayne Kellum passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the age of 72.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kellum; mother, Nora Kellum and brother, John Kellum.

He is survived by his sister, Sherri Mott; nieces, Julie (Doug) Larson, Shannon (Joseph) George, Whitley Gunn (Tyrone) (David); nephews, James Kellum and Troy Putnam; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; special friends, Glen Cosby and Dennis Vasser and his loyal cat, Leroy.

Billy was a simple man who loved simple things. He enjoyed gardening every summer and sharing what he grew. He enjoyed motorcycles, motocross and Harley Davidson. Throughout his life he had many jobs and occupations. He worked on building the California Aqueduct, Texas oil fields, Nevada casinos, gold mines, turkey ranch, and Texas H&B Construction and spending most of the last 35 years working in heating and cooling with Dennis Vasser. He loved the Lord and enjoyed worship at Bethel Church with Bro. Daniel Martin. Mostly, he loved his “son”, Leroy and visiting daily with his sister, “Lulu”. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery with Bro. Daniel Martin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Selma Animal Shelter; 206 Medical Center Parkway, Selma, Alabama 36701.
