Brenda Pierson

Brenda McHugh Pierson passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 at her Plantersville home at the age of 78. She was born December 12, 1944 to the late Tommy Reid McHugh, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth McHugh.

Brenda loved the Lord, her church, Ebenezer Baptist Church in Stanton and especially her two girls, grandchildren and great grandchild. They were her world and the apple of her eye!

She was preceded in death by her nephew, Brandon McHugh.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gary Moore Pierson; daughters, Kim (Darren) Atchison, Leigh (Derek)  Chappelle; grandchildren, Emily Atchison (Tyler) Carter, Pierson Atchison, Austin Chappelle, Taylor Leigh Chappelle; great-grandson, Hudson Carter; brother, Tommy "Bubba" McHugh, Jr.; nieces, Tammy (Hart) Sims and Kim McHugh; close friends, Smitty (Anna Marcia "sister") Smitherman and Gary (Carol) Harrison and numerous great-nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Stanton with Bro. Danny Rasberry and Bro. Mark Smith officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Darren Atchison, Pierson Atchison, Tyler Carter, Austin Chappelle, Derek Chappelle, Gary Harrison, Hart Sims and Smitty Smitherman. Honorary pallbearers will be David Atchison, James Atchison, Dennis Burnett, Gene Carter, Steve Davis, Russell Gregg, Earl Griffin, Johnny Higginbotham, Leslie Seales, Ronnie Terry, Kurt Wallace and Mike Walls.
