John Johnson, Jr.

John Raymond Johnson, Jr. passed away August 3, 2019 at the age of 72. He was born September 8, 1946 to the late John Raymond Johnson, Sr. and Evelyn Sanford Johnson.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkdale Baptist Church with Rev. Cory Horton officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the church at 1:00 p.m.

John was a graduate of A.G. Parish High School and Livingston University.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Virginia Daniels Johnson; brother, Robert “Bobby” Johnson; brother-in-law, Gene (Robbin) Daniels; nephews, Chad Daniels and Jason (Jodi Rankin) Daniels and grand-nephews, Cody Daniels, Balin Daniels and Lowen Daniels.

Pallbearers will be Chad Daniels, Jason Daniels, Barry Reid, Johnny Lackeos, Martin Chance and Cody Daniels.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make memorial donations to Elkdale Baptist Church or The American Red Cross Blood Campaigns in memory of John.
