Kenneth Girlie

Kenneth Robert “Kenny” Girlie went to be with our Lord on April 9, 2022 at the age of 51. He was born October 8, 1970 to Robert Calvin Girlie and Carolyn Sue Benson Girlie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Calvin Girlie; aunts, Sandra (Lonnie) Jones and Margaret Bamberg.

He is survived by his wife, Saundra Marie Fendley Girlie; son, Kenneth Benson (Stephani) Girlie; daughters, Myranda Girlie (Jonathan) Langston and Kaylee Girlie (Landon) Moore; grandchildren, Ellah Girlie, Mason Girlie, Brylee Langston, Forrest Langston, Reagan Langston and Peyton Langston; mother, Carolyn Sue Girlie; brother, Christopher Scott (Stephanie) Girlie; nephews, Landon Girlie, Ethan Girlie and Grayson Girlie; aunts and uncles, Bobby (Peggy) Girlie, Betty (Stan) Walloga, Ronnie Gill, Faye (Darrell) Siebert and Cathy (Benny) Carlee and numerous cousins.

Kenny was a loving and hardworking family man, who just like his dad, never met a stranger. He loved the outdoors, but especially deer hunting. For the past few years he has worked at International Paper.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 11, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Rush and Rev. Artie Plummer officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Jones, Gerald Fendley, Landon Moore, Tarquin Rascoe, Vernon Atchison, Landon Girlie and Willie Phillips.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, texts, calls, food and support in many heart-felt forms from extended family and friends. The family would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff of Vaughn Regional Medical Center and Southern Care Hospice. There aren’t enough words to express our appreciation to you all.
