Ruth Erika Huckert Middlebrooks passed away peacefully March 18, 2021 at the age of 97, with family by her side. She was born October 7, 1923 in Saarbrücken, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Asbury Middlebrooks; great-grandson, Clay Hawkins; father, Emil Huckert and mother, Ida Specht.

She is survived by her children, Mary M. Callaway, Johnny Middlebrooks, Annie (Craig) Friday and Wayne (Debbie) Middlebrooks; grandchildren, Kim (Lee) Peake, Shannon (Kevin) Pipkin, Tammy (Hart) Sims, Brandon (Kim) McHugh, Kerri Chappelle, Dr. Erik (Sara) Middlebrooks and Zackary Middlebrooks; sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday, March 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. Chad Middlebrooks and Dr. Jerry Light officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The service will be livestreamed online at http://watchlawrence.live via the funeral home’s Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.

Pallbearers will be Hart Sims, Craig Friday, Charles Middlebrooks, Brandon McHugh, Lee Peake, Phillip Peake, Chase Sims and Gabriel Pipkin.

The family would like to thank Park Place Nursing Home for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Behavioral One – Autism Treatment and Support Center; 2081 Columbia Road, Vestavia Hills, Alabama 35216.
