Ruth Roberts

Ruth Henry Roberts passed away on October 5, 2018 at the age of 97. She was born on December 5, 1920 to John Warren and Altie Melton Henry.

Mrs. Roberts worked with Stewart, King & McKenzie for 42 years. Before working with Stewart, King & McKenzie, she worked for City National Bank for 10 years. She was a graduate of the old Selma High School and attended Central City Business College in Selma. She was a general bookkeeper for Stewart, King & McKenzie until the company was sold and retired in August, 1995. She was a member of Elkdale Baptist Church for over sixty years (since it started).

She was preceded by her husband of 65 years, Robert Leonard Roberts of Selma, AL; two brothers, Pelham H. Henry and Guy C. Henry.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Roberts Scott of Boiling Springs, SC; three grandsons, Dr. Robert A. Scott and wife Eleonora of Orange County, CA; Tracy L. Scott of Milton, GA; Carey R. Scott and wife Amber of Atlanta, GA; and eight great-grandchildren, Liam and Fiona Scott of Orange County, CA; Ashlyn, Marley, Bryant, and Ty Scott of Milton, GA; Zonia and Della Scott of Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Jerry Henry (her nephew) will conduct the graveside service at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, at New Live Oak Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Pelham H. Henry, Jr., J. Kenneth Henry, Charles H. Sims III, Thomas C. Henry, Hart Sims and Dr. Charles Moates.
